CHANGING DESKTOP GRAPHICS

In Windows CE (the handheld device MS OS), you can change the way the Active Desktop looks by using your desktop's image editor. The logo on the main screen is just a GIF file, but it is a particular size. When you download it to your PC, don't change the size. The file's name is DTTITLE.GIF and it's located in the Windows folder in the handheld device. Copy the file to your hard drive and edit it. When changing it, try to keep the graphics simple (16 color is best) to save RAM on your handheld device.

When you're done, copy the file to the Windows folder and the Temporary Internet Folder. This is where Windows CE picks the file back up.

Perform a Soft Reset. Now you see your new logo on your handheld. Just in case, keep a copy of the original file in a safe place on your hard drive.

WAV FILE PROBLEMS

If you are attempting to play a WAV file created in Windows CE from your desktop, you may be experiencing problems. This is because ActiveSync needs to be updated to the latest version. Click on the link below to go to Microsoft's Web site, download the latest version of ActiveSync, and your pocket PC should be rockin'!
