LOGO Files
Home Up

You can create your own logo set and use them as starting and shutting down screens. Just follow these steps:

  1. Create a bitmap (.bmp) image with Paint (or another program) with the following characteristics: 320 pixels in width, 400 pixels in height and 256 colors (or MORE if your system supports it). However you can also use any existing image on condition that it is of the dimensions reported above. Then, you have to save it as:

    a. LOGO.SYS - ROOT of C drive, is the start up splash

    b. LOGOW.SYS - Windows Directory, is the PLEASE WAIT screen see before the shut down

    c. LOGOS.SYS - Windows Directory, is the SHUT DOWN (last during shut down process)

  2. Simply RENAME the original files to something else, then copy the image you wanted (should be formatted correctly) to the appropriate directory, give it the filename listed above, restart Windows!
