The Office of Information Management (OIM) is one of the first facilities everyone sees as part of their in-processing.
Too bad it is so poorly maintained. This carpeting has been in place since the facility was remodeled about 20 years ago.
Over the years several of the workers in this facility have tripped on the assorted worn areas that have frayed and become a tripping hazard.
One co-worker was even pregnant at the time and complained to
management, you can see the response to our complaints in these photos.
Nicely fixed...one comment made during these repairs we that we didn't rate as high as some of the other facilities at Fort Roots.
Such as the Engineering Service facility and others that are located closer to the Parade Field and the Director's Office.
Amazing, over three years, at least in trying to get this replaced, to bad I can't get in some of the "nicer" places to get some up-to-date photos.
These photos were taken in
the common areas, which are open to anyone that walks through the
building.
Came in the weekend of 8-14 to 8-15, 2004 to find the a/c had dusted the office with junk. Am working to get this stuff tested and determine what type of inhalation hazard (if any) this presented to us.
The private lab reports came back as negative; just standard inorganic matter indicating dirty (nasty) vents and airways), no asbestos either (lucky me). Now I just have to await the results from the VA's tests. They "say" they will get them cleaned, but I'm not holding my breath!
The VA tests also came back negative. A follow by me has revealed that the money does not currently exist to create the contract and get the dirty ductwork cleaned. Like I am surprised... I will continue to follow up on this to see just how long this will take to get corrected. I've got at LEAST ten years to watch this! <g>
