April 2016
Home Up

Olga and I decided to take a couple of days off and take a short "Staycation" in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  We made it to to Eureka Springs, Arkansas without incident and spent three days (and two nights) at the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge.
  • This was definitely something different, as we stayed in the Serengeti Lodge, which is one of five different Safari Lodges available at the refuge.

And the view out the back of the lodge was spectacular...

  • On April 25th, we visited the animals onsite and then took the walking tour, it was a small group of four visitors and one tour guide, but it made for a more personal experience.  Too bad many of the animals stayed in their enclosures...
It was a very quiet couple of evenings...you could hear nothing.  Except the lions!
